why yes, this is another post about waiting.
August 30, 2011This is a short post. Because it is 1030 and I am about to get into bed. PDS [which is like student teaching mixed with class] is wearing me out! Anyways, we are still studying what to do with our wait in sunday school. And, about two weeks ago, we were asked what our wait was and what we thought God was trying to teach us. Well, I JUST NOW figured out what I think mine is. During my wait of finishing school and getting a grown up job, I feel like God is teaching me two important things.
1. How to build/establish relationships.
2. Loving those who I don’t really want to love.
I also think God is using the kids as one way to do this. Which is a little..humbling, I guess is the word, to get taught a lesson by a 6 old. But God can use whoever and whatever he wants. Anyways, I’m curious to know what waits everyone else has or anything they learned through these two waits.. So if any of you would like to share, I’d be happy to listen! Goodnight all!
Thanks again for your honesty, Kalah. Your conclusion about God teaching you to love who you don’t want to love is so on track! It’s been a reality for me throughout my faith journey. God seems to keep putting me in situations that reveal my lack of ability to love the unlovable. He wrings me out when I try to pretend I do. And yes, He definitely uses kids to humble me and remind me that His love is the real deal. He’s calling us to follow Him.
It is very hard to love the unloveable and I have a little problem with that sometimes. I am so proud of the young woman you have become and I know God has called you into teaching or you wouldn’t have changed your major. You will be a great teacher——-and as I have said a million times before. “They couldn’t pay me enough money to be a teacher” So keep depending on God first of all and follow your dreams.
So- to add to this! A little boy in my class today got picked on. All of the class started yelling at the girl who picked on him and he stood up and said “guys! we arent going to make fun of her or laugh at her.” and then patted her back. a second grader. And as soon as it happened I thought of this post. :]
