Garfos : fine cuisine for starving students

September 10, 2009 By kalah.newsome

Today was just another day of learning community classes. As we studied learning types and strategies and how to listen, a thought occurred to me:

Kalah, you actually might be able to USE the things you learn here.

So, after what seems like the longest hike in the world (yes, the walk back from house 55) we were all craving food. As most of the class went to The Commons, I made the trek to my dorm for pizza rolls and my daily routine of watching Jerry Springer with my roommate.

Later that evening, I get a text from Jamie inviting me to a Brazilian buffet, Garfo’s.  As we enter in the restaurant, I was greeted by a smell of unfamiliar spices. I, being the picky eater that I am, freak out and fear this food I am about to devour. Surveying the spread, I see some beef that looks rather tasty and an assortment of pasta that Ansley and I snack on as we wait in line. Although I was skeptical at first, I’d rate my Brazilian buffet experience a 10. The food was delicious. I also learned one thing out of my dinner : bring ketchup.
